Setting up a Raspberry Pi 3 ModelB as a War Pi is not much difficult.

After reading this, you’ll be able to know every step with details.

Therefore, you will face no issues doing your work.

Team CSHAWK wishes you good luck for your further journey. KEEP SMILING!

Major Requirements For War Pi:

  1. Raspberry Pi 3 MODEL B.
  2. MicroSD Card 8GB minimum.
  3. Internet Access obviously.
  4. Power Supply.

Setup War Pi:

Setting up War Pi is a bit difficult if you didn’t follow our tutorial. Let’s Begin,

Install the Dependencies: Run the commandraspi-confiDetermine the IP address that you wanna use.

Make sure it doesn’t essentially conflict with other important static IPs.

  • sudo vi /etc/dhcpcd.conf {FILE NAME SHOULD NOT CHANGE OR IT WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS}
  • Now you need to add some codes to this file, Just add these:

interface eth0

static ip_address=192.168.0.98/24
static routers=192.168.0.1
static domain_name_servers=192.168.0.1

  • After doing it you can go for a normal reboot. Therefore, after doing it just update using the command:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get upgrade

  • Install Kismet Dependencies using:

sudo apt-get install gpsd
sudo apt-get install libncurses5 libncurses5-dev
sudo apt-get install libnl1 libnl-dev
sudo apt-get install libpcap-dev libpcap0.8 libpcap0.8-dev

Downloading Kismet For War pi:

For downloading Kismet.

You need to download the latest packages from the official website of Kismet.

For doing that you can just use the following command:

wget https://www.kismetwireless.net/code/kismet-2016-07-R1.tar.xz

Files are now successfully downloaded.

Therefore, you now need to extract it.

Hack

To extract just navigate the file and open it like a folder.

You will simply get the option to unzip/extract it.

Now Open The Directory that was Extracted:

sudo tar –xf kismet-2016-07-R1.tar.xz
cd kismet-2016-07-R1/

Installing Kismet

If you are a bit familiar with normal Linux installation. Then you can simply install it. But if you are not. Then just copy the commands below.

$sudo ./configure
$sudo make dep
$sudo make
$sudo make install

Configure The Kismet – War Pi

This is the most difficult task to do as it is much complex.

Make sure not to make any mistake or entire hard work will become crap in a second or two.

All the configuration that we are gonna will be in “kismet.conf” file only.

Roblox Raspberry Roblox Hack

You can find the file exactly in “/usr/local/etc.” directory.

You can use any editor of your choice.

I prefer you to use a simple editor that you are handy with.

Here, I am going to use VI text editor which is very simple to use. If you want you can just follow the same as I am doing.

Hack

$ sudo vi /usr/local/etc/kismet.conf

  1. Configure LOGGING:

After you do it, you are using home/pi/kismet. Therefore, you will need to create the same directory in order to use it.

You can even create it manually. Or just use the following commands to make your work simple.

$sudo mkdir /home/pi/kismet
$sudo chmod 777 /home/pi/kismet

2. Configure the Interfaces:

Confirm the ‘ncsource’ parameter is set as follows: (wlan0 is used by the Pi3 internal WiFi)

ncsource=wlan1

3. Configuring GPSD:

It is mainly to address the Global Positioning System i.e GPS. It boots when the system is booted. Now, you need to connect the GPS which can be connected via USB. To recognize it, use:

dmesg | grep ttyUSB0

After running the command you will be able to see that the USB is successfully recognized or not. Then you can proceed further.

Now you’ll need to edit one more file at location “/etc/default“. To edit use the following command:

cd /etc/default
sudo vi gpsd

In the file you just need to edit the following parameter:

START_DAEMON='true'
DEVICES='/dev/ttyUSB0'

4.Configure GPS to Set Time:

Your War Pi is not gonna get System time from the network.

Therefore use, the following command:

$ sudo vi GPSTimeUpdate

Now we need this code to be executed when our system boots.

Therefore, for it, you’ll need to make changes in /etc/rc.local file.

For that run the below command:

sudo vi /etc/rc.local

Editor’s Choice:

5. Configuring Kismet StartUp

Kismet is to be set up so that it will run on system boot. Now do the following,

cd /etc/init.d
sudo vi kismet

After you save the script. Just make it as executable. For that use,

$ sudo chmod +x kismet

Activating it.

$sudo update-rc.d kismet defaults

Conclusion:

War Pi is really an amazing tool that one need to use.

I hope you have learnt how you can setup “War Pi” and use it for your own good.

I have spent an insane amount of time developing and maintaining this kit over the past two years for you guys and its been a blast! Due to changes that the team at RetroPie and Raspberry Pi have made to the OS the scripts require regular maintenance to function reliably….so update your scripts often or make sure you subscribe to my channel and enable notifications so you don’t miss out!

Install Instructions

Install the toolkit to run through the RetroPie Menu on the pi itself

Enable SSH (Required for Windows or Mac users)

First your RetroPie must be connected to the internet through your home network so you canA. Connect to your Pi B. Download the toolkit and config file

Now on with enabling ssh…..

  1. Go to the RetroPie Menu and select Raspi-config
  2. Navigate to Interface Options
  3. Select SSH
  4. Select Yes

Install the Kit (Windows)

Download the Windows Kit HERE

  1. Extract the toolkit and put the “RetroPie Toolkit” directory where ever you like
  2. Launch the “Install Eazy Hax Toolit on the Pi.cmd”.
  3. If this is your first time launching one of the scripts in the toolkit then windows will give you a warning. (Dont worry…I wrote all these myself and they are harmless) Click “More Info”
  4. Next Click “Run anyway”
  5. A screen will pop up with text showing you the status of the install and informing you that your pi will be rebooted so the scripts show up.
    Thats it! When your pi comes back online you should see a new menu item Eazy Hax Toolkit under the RetroPie Menu.

Install the Kit (Mac)

  1. Press Super (apple button) and spacebar to bring up spotlight. Type in “terminal”
  2. Highlight, copy and paste the below line into the terminal (Super + c to copy; Super + v to paste)
    ssh retropie -l pi
    Just type yes and hit enter if you get the dialog above.
  3. Next put in the password raspberry when prompted and hit enter
  4. To start the install highlight, copy and paste the below line into the terminal (Super + c to copy; Super + v to paste)

  5. You will then see text showing you the status of the install and informing you that your pi will be rebooted so the scripts show up.
    Thats it! When your pi comes back online you should see a new menu item Eazy Hax Toolkit under the RetroPie Menu.

Add Video Sphlashscreens

A simple script to install a set of my favorite video splashscreens.

Disk Space

Simply tells you how much space you have available on your SD card and IF you have used my “Expand to External Drive” scripts…how much space is on your external drive as well.

Expand to External Hard Drive Enable/Disable

I tried to make this functionality as convenient for you as possible and this is probably the most complex script in my arsenal.
The Eazy Hax expand script IS NOT the same thing that RetroPie already does. The RetroPie scripts are well made as is everything RetroPie does. The built in RetroPie scripts simply copy your /home/pi/RetroPie directory to your external drive and create a link to it. You have to wait for the games to copy over (takes ages on USB 2.0) and if you disconnect your USB drive you loose all of your games. If you want to use the RetroPie method…please do so.
What The Eazy Hax Expand Script does:

Raspberry Roblox Hack

  • Copies everything you have on your sd card to a different directory on the SD card…not on the External drive.
  • Mounts your external drive and make it mount permanently (even after reboots), and creates a roms directory on it that mimics what is on your sd card (just empty directories)
  • Makes the pi think your sd card roms directory and anything you add to the external drive roms are one roms directory. This makes your Retropie read games from both your sd card and the exteral drive at the same time.
  • Allows you to disconnect the external drive at any time and go mobile with the roms on your sd card….when you get back home…plug it up and you get the extended library on your External drive.
  • Adds two separate samba (the way you connect to your Pi via Windows Explorer) directories one for the SD card and one for the External drive so you can add roms where you want them via the network.
  • Because the Eazy Hax method does not actually copy anything…no need to wait for the roms to be copied to the external drive. The expansion is nearly instant…plus it does not waste that space.
  • The final benifit to this method is you can disconnect your External drive at any time, and plug it into your PC to load a large amount of roms saving you a ton of time. As many of you already know it takes quite a bit of time to copy the bigger CD/DVD based games to your Pi via the network. NOTE:If you for whatever reason have the exact same copy of a game on the SD card and the External drive it will read what is on the SD card and ignore what is on the External Drive.

    The only rules are:

  • The External drive must be formatted to NTFS
  • Only one external drive at a time is supported. That said you can have 2 external drives…one with lets say your PS1 library and one with your Dreamcast library. You only need to run the Expand to External Drive Disable script, plug in your alternate drive, and run the expand script each time you switch drives.# The Scripts and what they do….Add Video Splash ScreensDisk SpaceExpand to External Drive Enable/Disable

Factory Reset Controllers

Just what it says….it resets your controller config for EmulationStation (Gui control…switching between systems) AND Retroarch (your controller mapping ingame). RetroPie has a similar script but they only wipe your EmulationStation configs and not your RetroArch mappings.

Flip Sega Genesis Megadrive and PCE TG16 graphics

You guessed it. Flips the graphics from Megadrive to Genesis and PC Engine to TurboGrafx-16. If you run it again it will reverse itself and set the graphics back to Megadrive and PC Engine.

Install PowerButton

I tried to come up with a easy way to setup a cheap “power off/shutdown” button for your RetroPie.
I walk through exactly how to install the button in the video below. The script simply installs the needed python scripts for you so you only need to install the button, and run the script.

No Audio Scripts

Raspberry Pi Roblox Hack

If you are not getting audio this is due to the type of TV you have. They are all a little different and these are setup to help fix it with the click of a button….the names are self-explanatory.

OverScan Enable/Disable

Raspberry Roblox Hack

If your screen has a black border all the way around it run OverScan Disable to get rid of it. If the words are running off of your screen and it seems some of the picture is cut off then run OverScan Enable.
Here is an example of needed to run OverScan Disable:

XIN Mo 2 Player Enable

The XIN Mo controller is an excellent, easy to setup and CHEAP alternative for folks building a bartop arcade or arcade joystick controller for their RetroPie http://amzn.to/2ovpqbVThe only problem is the Pi registers the controller (one device) as only Player One…with no option to map the Player Two controls. After running my script the pi will then see 2 controllers represented and allow you to map them accordingly.

N64 Tweaks - Enable HD Graphics and Textures

Raspberry Hacks Roblox Download

This script makes tweaks to the N64 emulator on the RetroPie (duh)It enables HD resolution and downloads the HD texture pack for Mario 64. You can download more texture packs and install them here on your retropie/home/pi/.local/share/mupen64plus/hires_texture
I go through everything in detail on the video below. You MUST run an N64 game at least once and change the emulator to mupen64plus-rice. Please watch the vid for more details.
